Filippo Russo (Phil) formerly of Binghamton died peacefully at home on November 19, 2016. Born in Italy, he is predeceased by his parents, Antonio & Rosina Russo; brothers, Antonio, Michele, Vittorio; sisters, Serefina & Nicolina, all of Italy; father and mother-in-law, Donato & Patricia Innarella. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Josephine; daughters, Rosanna & Doug Potts, Dr. Patricia Russo & Dr. Adam Coffee; son, Anthony & Paulette; granddaughters, Christina and Jessica Potts, Natalie Coffee and Annette and Renata Russo; sister, Maria & Rocco; brother, Gerardo, both of Italy; brothers and...

Filippo Russo (Phil) formerly of Binghamton died peacefully at home on November 19, 2016. Born in Italy, he is predeceased by his parents, Antonio & Rosina Russo; brothers, Antonio, Michele, Vittorio; sisters, Serefina & Nicolina, all of Italy; father and mother-in-law, Donato & Patricia Innarella. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Josephine; daughters, Rosanna & Doug Potts, Dr. Patricia Russo & Dr. Adam Coffee; son, Anthony & Paulette; granddaughters, Christina and Jessica Potts, Natalie Coffee and Annette and Renata Russo; sister, Maria & Rocco; brother, Gerardo, both of Italy; brothers and sister-in-law, Vince & Kathy Innarella, Nicholas & Monica Innarella, Grace & Richard Bernard; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends both here and in Italy. He worked at Kroehler Manufacturing, NYSDOT, but most proudly hosted the Italian Florentine Hour for 10 years on WKOP radio from 1972-1982. He earned a Bachelors Degree from SUNY Binghamton and a Master's Degree from Rutger's University. He was an avid soccer fan and was a referee throughout the Southern Tier. He was a former member of the Sons of Italy and American Civic Association. He was a member of the Independent Mutual Aid Society. In recent years he was a tax preparation volunteer for the elderly and worked as a tax aide for many years. He was a member of the Italian-American Club. He enjoyed gardening, playing cards and traveling especially cruising and was forever telling jokes making people laugh. He was a member of St. Henry's church in Fl. and formerly St. John the Evangelist Church while a Binghamton resident. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 25, 2016 from 3-6 pm at the James V. DeMarco & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson. A funeral mass will be offered on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 10:00 am at the St. John St. Andrew Church, 7 Livingston Street, Binghamton NY 13903. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
